English I Daily Agenda
I am excited to be your English I teacher! In this course we will study short stories and literary elements, director Tim Burton and his style, interviewing and argumentative writing, the novel To Kill a Mockingbird, and Shakespeare's famous tragedy, "Romeo and Juliet".
Born and raised until the age of ten in Riverside, California, I moved to Arizona with my family in the late 90's. I am the daughter of a Biochemistry professor and a Physicist. How did two science nerds have an English teacher for a daughter? Who knows.
Here in the valley I attended high school at Skyline, the rival of DRHS. I went to college at Arizona State University and graduated with highest honors in 2013, earning a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education, specializing in English.
I am a mother of two, a son in elementary school and a daughter who is in the terrible two stage. We also have a fur baby who joined our family in 2016 named Sirius, after Sirius Black of Harry Potter. I am blissfully married to a wonderful man who I met while going to high school.
I am a bookworm and I read as many novels as possible each year. I love when students come to me with book suggestions. My all time favorite book series is Harry Potter. When I'm not teaching or reading, I enjoy hiking, running, horseback riding, dancing, playing video games with my boys, and watching T.V. series.
