Precalculus and Honors Algebra 2 Teacher
Pre-calculus is a dual enrollment class which combines MAT152 (College Algebra) and MAT182 (Plane Trigonometry) for three credits each through Chandler/Gilbert Community College. Topics include equations, functions (linear, quadratic, exponential, logarithmic, polynomial, rational, trigonometric, and inverse trigonometric), transformation, trigonometric equations, trigonometric identities, graphing trigonometric functions, solutions of triangles, applications, complex numbers, polar coordinates, DeMoivre's theorem, partial fraction decomposition, conic sections, sequences and series.
Honors Algebra 2 focuses on the study of algebraic concepts. Topics will include an introduction to sequences and series, exponential and logarithmic functions, and trigonometry, as well as developing the analysis of data through the use of technology. This course prepares students for pre-calculus and calculus.
I am originally from suburban Chicago, Illinois, where I received my Bachelors Degree in Education from St. Xavier University and my Masters Degree in Math Education from Governors State University. After teaching in Illinois for several years, I moved with my family to beautiful Arizona in 2011. I taught math at Poston Butte High School for two years, and then continued my career at Desert Ridge in 2013. I love teaching high school, and I love math. My goal is to help students see the beauty and applications of math in the world around them. In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my husband and three kids, hiking, researching genealogy, and watching Chicago Bears football.
